Dublin's College of Career Advancement (CCA), located in Dublin 2, at 54 Merrion Square is offering a wide range of FETAC-accredited courses from September 2008.
The courses we offer are accredited by the national awarding body for further education and training in Ireland (FETAC) whilst the Certificate in Marketing is recognized by the Marketing Institute of Ireland (MII).
The FETAC courses are either Level 5 or Level 6.
The courses on offer were specifically chosen for their practical relevance to many careers in today's rapidly changing Ireland. Courses on offer include Print Journalism, Marketing, Legal Studies and Communications. The primary concern is to advance your career in as short a time as possible by arming you, the student, with matter-of-fact knowledge and skills.
The types of courses are either, industry-specific (Special Needs Assisting), business-focused (Business Management) or enabling you to acquire valuable information in a specific area (Business Law).
CCA caters for a broad range of clients, such as, the dynamic employer, the ambitious individual or the foreign national. Clear, concise notes will be provided for each subject with teaching being focused on interaction and communication.
All courses available are first and foremost pragmatic and either advance your career, lead to an instant qualification or lead you into further study at diploma level. The Certificate in Marketing that is on offer is recognised by the Marketing Institute of Ireland and can take the place of Year 1 on the 4-year Graduateship Programme. On completing
the Marketing Institute's 2-year certificate programme, you can reach Diploma level after 1 more year.
The CCA also offers a course in Security Systems and Procedures, and, on passing this module, you will satisfy one of the criteria for membership of the Security Institute of Ireland.
The Start Your Own Business module is of imperative importance to anyone thinking of or in the process of starting a business. The course itself is action-focused and all work is project-based; your knowledge will immediately turn into use. From composing a business plan to approaching investors, everything is covered in this hands-on course.
The timetable has been designed with the busy professional in mind. The majority of course times are in the evening or at the weekend, with the student only having to commit up to 3 evenings for a period of 12 weeks maximum.
The college is located in Dublin city centre, within minutes' walking distance of the DART and all major bus routes. The college itself is a beautiful Georgian building with large rooms, a courtyard and full-time access to computers and the internet.
